Urfa Agreement

The Battle of Urfa (Turkish: Urfa Muharebesi, French: The Ambush of Ourfa) was an insurrection in the spring of 1920 against the French army that occupied the town of Urfa (now` anl`urfa) by Turkish national forces. The French garrison at Urfa lasted two months before starting negotiations with the Turks on safe behaviour. However, after French commander Hauger secretly tried to contact his British allies to buy time, an armed conflict arose, costing the lives of most French forces and an unknown number of Turkish soldiers. The university has collective agreements covering the terms and conditions of employment of four collective agreement units. Urfa is one of the oldest cities in the world. It shares the Balikh River Valley region with two other important Neolithic sites in Nevala and Gobekli Tepe. The city started around 9000 BC. J.-C. as a Neolithic site of ppNA near the pool of Abraham (site name: Bal-kl-gel).

It was part of a network of early colonies in West Asia, where agriculture began. Here, the life-size limestone statue „Urfa Man“ was found during an excavation and is on display today at the Anlurfa Archaeological and Mosaic Museum. [8] The Urfa Man resembles both sculptures in the nearby Gobekli Tepe and statues found in `Ain Ghazal. The village of The city was followed by a series of four villages of PPNB on four hills on the site of Gettee. From 6200 BC, small Halaf cultural villages began to appear in the Balikh Valley. The typical village of Halaf is 2ha with a population of 500 people surrounded by agricultural fields. Around 5000 BC. J.C., the whole valley was dense. Two of these villages have become the nucleus of the great cities of Urfa and Harran. „Urfa the Glorious“ was officially renamed „Urfa the Glorious“ in 1984 by the Turkish Grand National Assembly in recognition of local resistance in the Turkish War of Independence.

The title was awarded at the repeated request of the city`s deputies who wanted to obtain a title similar to that of the nearby towns of Gazi (veteran) Antep and Kahraman (Heroic) Maraa. THE GAP AIRPORT is located about 34 km northeast of the city and offers direct flights to Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. Urfa, officially known as „Anl`urfa“ (pronounced [ʃanˈɫɯuɾfa]; in Arabic: , romance: alruha; Kurdish: Riha; [3] Armenian: Ուռհա, Romance: Uṙha; Syro: ܐܘܪܗܝ, Romanized: „Edessa“ is a city of more than 2 million inhabitants in southeastern Turkey and the capital of Anlurfa province. Urfa is a multi-ethnic city with a Turkish, Kurdish and Arab population. Urfa is located on a plain about 80 km east of the Euphrates. The climate offers extremely hot and dry summers and cool, humid winters. France`s withdrawal from the city of Urfa was part of an agreement between the occupying forces and representatives of the local forces, under the command of Captain Ali Saip Bey of Ankara. The withdrawal was to be peaceful, but was disrupted by an ambush of French units by the irregular Kuva-yi Milliye-Ebeke pass en route to Syria, resulting in 296 French casualties. If you need to check the collective agreements of a particular union, please see this: Unlike most Turkish cities that use different versions of natural butter in their regional kitchen, Urfa is, along with Antep, Mardi and Siirt, a large user of clarified butter, produced exclusively from sheep`s milk locally called „Urfaya“ („urfaya butter“). The town of Urfa was occupied by the French army in the autumn of 1919 to integrate this part of the Ottoman Empire into the French mandate of Syria.
